Yesterday's Missed Blog

Hey folks!

Sorry I missed ya'll yesterday. I kept writing, don't worry. I'm up to about page 14 1/2, edging my way to page 15. The time actually just slipped away from me, and suddenly, it was 1 in the morning. I was exhausted. Pages had been spewed out of me like a volcanic eruption. And I'm getting ready to start Day 3 of writing for the frenzy.

I've got to say, being forced to write in such a short amount of time has proven to be incredibly rewarding in it's own way. For one, I'm incredibly distracted, and staying on task which is definitely what I need. Since writing isn't my only passion, deadlines are a must. Sure, writing is my career choice and the line of work I'm planning on getting into. But it's not the only hobby I have.

For starters, yesterday from 12:00 - 1:30 pm, I was in Oakland at a Trapeze class. Yes, you read correctly, trapeze. I recently got into it over Spring Break in Seattle. My aunt took me to a Trapeze class, and as soon as my feet left the platform, and I was soaring through the air, I was addicted. It's such an adrenaline rush, and an incredibly good workout. So since I've been back from Spring Break I was looking into places around here at school I could go to, hopefully on a weekly basis. I found this place in Oakland and decided to go check it out. So yesterday morning, I got up, showered, and headed off. I will definitely be back to that place.

Also, for one who loves to write movies, nothing is more enjoyable to me than watching them as well. Even more so, watching films in the theater. It's one of my favorite experiences. So Friday I went to Napa and saw Limitless. It wasn't amazing, but I feel unbiased to it. It was alright. Also yesterday, I went to Santa Rosa, after the Trapeze class, and saw The Source Code. Let me tell you...it is probably one of my new favorite movies. It was SPECTACULAR. I laughed, I cried, I was entertained. It was just all around wonderful and super beautiful. If you haven't seen it within this opening weekend, please don't wait to see. It's amazing.

Back to my writing, as I round the corner of page 15, Charlotte has now decided what she needs to do; she needs to follow her dreams, just like she had planned so long ago. Her sister, McKay convinced her to follow her dreams, mainly to get her out of her apartment, but still. And now, I'm getting ready to start on the next part of the journey. Should Charlotte be looking at apartments in L.A. area? Or should there be something still happening in Seattle? I'm not sure yet. Also, I might go back and strip the first bit of the script in the rewrite. My writing advisor here at school tells me that if you can't sell a script within the first 10 pages, the story is a bust, and there is no hope for it. I'm on page 15...and the story is just getting started. I think we might have a problem. Plus, I haven't necessarily been writing quite like Wes Anderson, at least the dialogue doesn't seem to match the way he tells things. Once again, something to look at in the rewrite. Right now, (anyone catch that play on words...no? damn...) but right now, I've got to just get the story on paper. I can change everything I want in the rewrite. But with this deadline approaching, probably faster than I can see right now, I can meddle with the nitty-gritty. If I finish soon, then I can deal with it. But as for now, the goal is 100 pages in 30 days, and that's what I'm trying to do. I will fix it when the time comes.

My laptop is getting hot on my lap, and the battery life minutes are ticking down. I'm at 45 minutes now, and the bar has turned red. So I shall be heading back to my room now to work on the actual writing of the script until midnight. Thanks for listening.

  1. No re-writing! It's part of the script frenzy experience! But you might just be talking about afterwards haha.

Also, make it Kylee Q, not Wes Anderson ;)

  2. Hehehe. I know. I will rewrite ONLY when the script is completely finished. I'm not changing anything at the moment. :)

Aw...that was cute! :) Don't worry. This is definitely Kylee Q. This first draft is all Kylee. I just want to have that Wes Anderson flare to it later on in a rewrite. His dialogue is amazing. :)

  3. I really need to get into his stuff so I know exactly what you're going for haha. That one clip helped a little, but I'll get a couple movies soon :)
