Yesterday, I was asked by a good friend for some tips on how to keep writing. He said that his problem was that he would write about 2 pages, and then feel done, and have nothing else to say.

For all those who are following and reading, and who are having that same issue perhaps in their writing, here is the best advice i can give for this dilemma: KEEP WRITING!

It might seem a little cliche, or kind of like, "No duh! If you keep writing, it'll give you more," but it's completely the truth. I usually deal with this same issue. I get to a "block" in my storytelling, and think about where I want to go next. I get worried about the story not working out, and I think I need to take a break from writing to figure everything out. THIS IS BAD! Taking a "break" from your writing usually results in breaking up with your script. You'll still see it around, but it's harder to get back on track. It's better to have a mindset that says, "I know I don't know what I'm talking about or where this is going, but I'll let my story unfold for itself. I can fix it's ridiculousness in the rewrite." The main point in the first draft is to get everything on paper; every idea, every line of dialogue, every character and detail. If you have everything on paper, you are invincible in storytelling. Any is possible from then on because you have the story. It's outlined and ready for you. That way, when you go back to the rewrite, you're not thinking of, "Where do I go from here?" It's much easier to solidify your story when it's already laid out there in the first place. I'm not saying everything will be golden, or even that the ideas you wrote about in the first place will stick throughout, but at least you're writing, and that's what's most important in the writing process. Just keep at it.
